My name is Roslyn Kent and I’m a recent communications graduate from the University of Calgary, Alberta. I’m originally from North Vancouver and as a result, I love the mountains and the rain (I promise I’m not crazy), eating copious amounts of veggie sushi and skiing.
I’ve recently returned from a three-month trip across Southeast Asia and Australia and while away, I was fortunate enough to be able to make it to four countries and countless cities on a budget. Although I didn’t make it everywhere, I can assure you, it was originally on my list. Prior to this trip I spent a semester abroad in Leeds, England, where I travelled Europe afterward and developed a love for history and photography.
I’ve caught that paradoxically wonderful travel bug that makes you both excited about the prospect of seeing the world and anxious about whether you’ll have the time to see it all before you die. The answer to the latter is still unknown to me, but regardless, I’m going to do my best to check off that lengthy list I’ve created. I began my travel Instagram account, @worldlywandering, in September 2015 after a friend (Sisley Killam from @thepurelife_) encouraged me to do so and I haven’t looked back since.
My account is not only a photo memoir for some of the most exciting, enlightening and fulfilling moments of my life thus far, but it’s also a reflection of what travel and the outdoors have taught me.
At this point in my life, I’m beginning to search for a full-time career and I’m forced to consider how I can incorporate my passions into my job and visa versa. The rest is still unwritten for now, but I will update you with this blog as I go along.
